Description

TRANSFORMER FREE REVOLUTION.

Experimenting on lower power. levels, POM POWER is developing the transformer-free uninterruptible power system (UPS) for the last two decades. We have successfully made the power line frequency magnetics (transformers or inductors) out of UPS. Though the high frequency power processing is technology intensive, the transformer free design trend is moving up in high power levels. Fortunately, POM POWER, advances in technology have matured sufficiently to support improved value to the customer without sacrificing needed reliability.

INCREDIBLE INPUT FEATURES.

Modern industrial environment does not accept large harmonic input currents and high input power factor. Large input inductors and harmonic filters are needed to bring the harmonics down 3 to 5 percent total harmonic distortion (THD) and power factor (PF) up to 0.99 PF. These components add cost and weight and increase footprint.

WIDE RANGE OF CAPACITY.

POM POWER DIM Series are three phase UPS, ranging from 100 KVA to 1000 kVA, enhance the efficiency at higher power levels by reduction of switching losses to the point where the DIM Series UPS is predominant over the old technology UPS, including in terms of system footprint.

MODULAR TECHNOLOGY TO OVERCOME CONVENTIONAL INDUSTRIAL UPS ISSUES

In this way, DIM Series UPS manage successfully, the failure of one module without impacting system or site operation.

REDUCTION OF FAILURE DURING MAINTENANCE/ SUPER-FAST REPLACEMENT (MTTR)

A typical standalone UPS system will go onto bypass during failure or overload etc. The UPS will generally have to be isolated during repair or technical evaluation to assess the unit. Once assessed and problem found on the failed UPS there is time for part replacement, and if part is not available then further time is required when parts are available and sent to site. With POMPOWER DIM Series Industrial UPS, the faulty module is simply removed and replaced. This action can take literally seconds as the faulty module will removed and replaced during live conditions so there is no loss of power or loss of UPS backup.

FLEXIBLE BATTERY SOLUTIONS

DIM Series UPS battery voltage is independent of bus voltage and also allows a range of battery voltages to be accommodated. This converter also enables the battery to rest in an open circuit state to avoid continuous ripple current and the accelerated aging (especially at elevated temperatures) resulting from floating at a voltage significantly higher than open circuit voltage. With these additional capabilities, charging techniques can be more effective in extending battery service life and suitable for VRLA and LI-Ion Batteries.

SOLID ANSWER TO PROTECT FROM REGENERATIVE LOAD

Regenerative loads can cause reverse current to flow back into the UPS, which can disrupt the DC bus and potentially damage components like capacitors and rectifiers. The reverse energy can cause a rise in the DC bus voltage, exceeding safe operating limits. Without proper management, the reverse current and voltage spikes can lead to damage of the UPS components. DIM Series UPS Systems utilize IGBTs to electronically absorb or dissipate the regenerative energy, with add-on resistors to the DC bus when the voltage exceeds a certain threshold.

PROPORTIONAL GENERATOR SIZING

POM POWER DSM Series UPS is highly compatible with generators and avoids the additional generator over-sizing commonly required with a phase-control rectifier. DIM Series UPS design with an IGBT rectifier inherently holds PF up and THD down from 10 to 100 percent load.
